03 Trusted Standard Self-Assessment - Using the Self-Assessment module

To enter the Trusted Standard Self-Assessment module, click on Self-Assessment from your Self-Assessment Tool Homepage. This will take you to the Self-Assessment Module Homepage.







1. The Self-Assessment Module Homepage



Here is an explanation of all the features you can access via this page.




A. When you first login as an owner your assessment homepage may be blank. Click on the import/create icon to import an assessment template.
B. Export your assessments into Word or Excel
C. Change your column widths and save your grid settings
D. If you want to reset your column widths click reset
E. Each row represents a Trusted Standard self-assessment level you have been invited to contribute towards. Click on the template Title to enter the Self-Assessment template for the appropriate Trusted Standard level.
F. You can see the date the assessment is due, the % of completed questions, overall status
G. If using the moderation and/or approver functions you can track if the assessment has been submitted to your organisation’s moderator or approver.
H. View all participants contributing to the assessment.
I. The Role column lets you see what role you have been allocated.
J. The Partners column confirms the Self-Assessment is assigned to your organisation.
K. The Summary button provides a summary dashboard of progress against all 11 Trusted Standard Quality Areas.
L. The Archive button can be used to archive the self-assessment if you need to start again from scratch.
The Trusted Standard Self-Assessment does not currently use the Group functionality.

2. The Self-Assessment Template Explained



Your self-assessments enable you to collaborate with colleagues to evaluate your organisation, department or programme against the Trusted Standard’s 11 Quality Areas.
This screenshot explains the main features in each self-assessment template.




A. Your template is organised into a section for each of the Trusted Standard’s 11 Quality Areas. The standard for each Quality Area at the relevant Level is also provided.
B. Change your column widths and save your grid settings. If you want to reset your column widths click reset.
C. When you click the edit icon you will be able to edit each row. Don't forget to click the Save icon to update the record. The icon closes the Indicator without saving.
D. Each Quality area has a number of Indicators. These are shown both in short and full form.
E. You can enter and amend the text summary of what your organisation does well and any areas it needs to improve on in relation to each Indicator.
F. Leave messages for your colleagues in comments
G. Read useful help and guidance on suggested types of evidence you may wish to consider. These are not prescriptive.
H. Provide descriptions of the evidence you will use to support your evaluation. This can be supported by uploading document(s). See section 11 below.
I. Grade your organisation’s progress against each indicator:
Not started - There is no evidence to show that the requirements of this indicator are in place.
Just started - We have plans for this and some improvement activities have already begun.
Progressing well - Some evidence is available, but we need to make further improvements.
Fully met - There is enough evidence to show that the requirements of this indicator are in place.
J. The Complete button can be used to indicate when all necessary work has been completed on the Indicator.
K. The Trusted Standard Self-Assessment does not currently use the Tag functionality.

Remember: Don't forget to click the Save button to update the record


Adding evidence



As part of the evidence you are using to support your organisation’s self-assessment, you should consider linking in additional evidence to support your judgements.
Please note: The evidence you upload will only be accessible by users who are assigned to this assessment. There is a file size limit of 100MB per file. The following document types can be uploaded: WORD, EXCEL, PDF, JPG, PNG, PPT, MP4.

Click on the Evidence Library tab in the draw

Click on create portfolio button

Click on create a folder

Upload and link evidence

Upload your files





Once files are uploaded you can link to your Questions




Select where you want to link ie Action plan or assessment



Then select relevant question(s) to link to




When you return to your assessment by clicking on View Data. The name of the linked file will be shown in your evidence column. To download your evidence just click on the link in the column.
